Mom & Paul II

Out of boredom, I decided to continue my investigation into my mom's relationship with Paul, her first husband. As previously stated, my mom and her ex-husband Paul have a curious relationship. They married, had a kid, divorced, and then continued to live together while she had relationships (and children) with other men. She had two kids, my sister Sara and I, then he eventually moved out, but they still maintained a close relationship. From what I can tell, they never really seemed to separate. It kind of confused me growing up. We were talking and I liked the things she said, so I wanted to share them.

Do you love Paul?

Mom: Sometimes.

What do you mean "sometimes"?

Mom: I used to. When I first met him I was love him.

What happened?

Mom: We get broke down. We breaking.

How did that happen?

Mom: I dunno. We used to be agree. Agreement all the time. Then we fight. I have to leave.

What happened after you left him?

Mom: I movin' to Lawrence heights. I met Aboulaye (my dad) and Sara born. Paul apply for divorce.

When you were with my dad, was Paul with anyone else?

Mom: No

Do you think when you went with my dad it hurt Paul?

Mom: No. Paul. He wasn't jealous. He was ok. 

Did you love my dad?

Mom: (giggles) Why you say that?

Just wondering. Did you?

Mom: Yeah.

Do you think you'll ever find anyone else?

Mom: Nah. Nothing like Paul.

Yeah? Why?

Mom: I don't know. He used to do everything... Shopping. Whatever he had, he give it to me.

Do you think he's your soulmate?

Mom: Yeah.

Paul Dylan is 74 years old. He resides in Cedar Terrance Nursing home in Toronto. He was born and raised in eastend Toronto. He was my moms first husband, with whom she had my sister Naomi.
