Mandalas

The symbol of the circle and the production mandalas is often associated with the expression of the totality of the psyche in all its aspects, including the relationship between man and the whole of nature. The symbol of the circle is one of the most important motifs in the objectivation of unconscious images and the production of circle images and mandalas can indicate the ego's capacity to assimilate unconscious material. Carl Jung stated that "the mandala is a sacred, holy, protected space; psychologically, descriptive of both a personal container and the sense of privacy that surrounds an analytical relationship." The circle, as the symbol of completeness and perfect being, may be a widespread expression for heaven, sun, and God; as well as an expression of the the primordial image of man and the soul, depicting psychic content and images of the Self. The circle may also be observed as a means of protecting the centre of the personality from being drawn out and from being influenced from outside.

Recently I have started to produce a lot of circle and mandala images, in conjunction with my fascination with Carl Jung as well as all things spiritual. The images and symbols in my mandalas I believe depict my psychic content, my expressions of the image of the Self  and my image of ultimate wholeness. They display both primal cultural forms and abstract expressions. I go through so many fazes and I'm always changing, and I think you can see it in my work.

I love to look at mandalas as the inner life of individuals always peaks my interest and maybe others feel the same, which is why I decided to put my mandalas on display. Enjoy!
