Self Acceptance

The journey to self acceptance and self love is an arduous one. The greatest struggle in my life has been coming to terms with who I am right here, right now, and completely loving that person. It's hard to be okay with yourself when there are so many people and systems in place that tell you that you should be something other than what you are in order to feel okay. But it's more important than anything to know that the universe makes no mistakes, and were created for a purpose. The universe is not complete without you. We are as we are meant to be and things could not be otherwise.

Today I was feeling insecure, and I found surety in the words of Tyrion Lannister, a character from George R.R. Martin's novel and television series A Song of Ice and Fire/ A Game of Thrones.

“Never forget who you are, for surely the world won’t. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.”

Remember that you were created in love and light, and there you shall always remain. You are the love and joy of the universe. Never forget.

Would I still want to be with you if I knew all your secrets?

Would you still want to be with me?

May Musings

I don't know where I'm at. I know where I want to go. I know where I want to be.

And I know how I want to feel.

I've been so confused. So lost. So stunted in my growth it seems.

I want to be a butterfly. I want to have gone through the life of a caterpillar and to have emerged as something greater. I want to be the me I know I can be.

Nothing is holding me back. It's only myself and my limiting ideas.

I am a butterfly that still think she's a caterpillar in a cocoon.

God. Why don't I just open my eyes and see?
